Essay

The dissertation on the basis of a wide source base (fiction, journalism, scientific articles, translations, etc.) and scientific publications highlights the formation and development of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian literary and cultural relations – in the context of national and world literary process. Three periods in the development of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian literary relations are analyzed, described and characterized. The dissertation highlights the key trends in the development of national literatures at each stage, establishes the typological similarity and describes the distinctive features of the literary processes in Ukraine and Azerbaijan. For the first time, a large array of little-known scientific studies, translations, rethinking and interpreting the works of the most representative Azerbaijani writers: Nizami, Fuzuli, S. Shirvani, K. Zakir, M. Akhundov, etc., as well as children's writers A. Shaik, R. E. , F. Kocharlinsky, A. Sikhkhat, M. Akhundov, I. Tapdyga, H. Alibeyli, Z. Khalil, who in different ways entered the cultural and literary environment of Ukraine, although they were not researched and translated into Ukrainian.
