Essay

The object is the process of Ukrainian-American interliterary communication from 1928 till the end of the century. The purpose is to consider the peculiarities of the reception of the creative works by Hemingway in the union of different forms. The methods: historic-sociological, descriptive, generalizing, structural-semiotic, historic-functional, comparative-typological. The results: for the first time the Ukrainian reception of creative works by Hemingway was considered, the main tendencies of the evaluation of his legacy by the Ukrainian literary criticism were studied, the translations, their history and functions were analyzed.
