Subject: reaction of activated esters of organic acids with solid salts of amino acids in the presence of phase-transfer catalysts. Purpose: establishment of the factors governing the reaction rate in liquid/solid phase-transfer system with acylation of solid salts of organic acids in the presence of phase-transfer catalysts - crown esters and quaternary ammonium salts. Methods: sampling method followed by determination of concentration of the reaction product using spectrophotometry technique, elemental analysis, high-performance liquid chromatography, PMR and IR spectroscopy, Fisher's conductometic titration, ninhydrin reaction method. The main stages of the phase-transfer reaction were established, their kinetic studies were carried out. The formation of the third phase - omega-phase - in the system under study was confirmed. New procedure for the peptide fragment formation by the activated esters method was proposed. The results may be used in development of the theoretical background of the nucleophilic substitution mechanisms in liquid/solid phase-transfer systems.
