Kostyuchenko O. Appealing Against Judicial Decisions in Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.

The thesis investigates the institute of appealing against judicial decisions in criminal procedure of Ukraine, in particular, its origins, historical development, notion, major features and objectives, object and subject-matter, subjects, the form and contents of an appeal, procedure and terms for its submission, grounds, conditions and procedure for the resumption of these terms, procedural consequences of the submission of an appeal. The existing theoretical standpoints have been analysed as well as records of Ukrainian law pertaining to appeals against judicial decisions in criminal cases to higher courts, international legal acts in the field of human rights and criminal justice, criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine and other states that is in force, Draft of the new Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, case law and statistics of appellate courts of Ukraine pertaining to appeals against judicial decisions in criminal matters. Proposals aiming to improve provisions of criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine regulating appeals against judicial decisions have been formulated.
