Saschuk G. Security imperatives of Ukraine's television space

The thesis deals with a systematic, interdisciplinary, political research into the problem of Ukraine's information space's security, which has been updated taking into consideration the current situation of state building in the country. An attempt has been made to look into the problem in the context of interconnected relations with other elements of both the information and political spaces by using the structural and functional comparative method of analysis. A paradigm of investigating the process of ensuring Ukraine's television space's information security in a synthesized format put forward in the work has been used for the first time in the history of journalistic studies in Ukraine. In particular, the formation and functioning of the national information space, Ukraine's television space and components of information security have been covered; prospects for ensuring a proper level of information security have been defined. It has been demonstrated that the implementation of a complex programto raise the general professional level of journalism, clear orientation towards the fulfillment of strategic tasks for the development of Ukrainian statehood are a prerequisite for the formation of a modern competitive system of safeguarding Ukraine's TV space. The security imperatives already existing in Ukraine's TV space do not meet the requirements of the reality: they are not adequate to the chosen strategic course of state building.
