Essay

The thesis contains the results of investigating in vitro duration and frequency of ciliary beating of the ciliated epithelium of gill and leg of 17 species of Unionidae in the fauna of Ukraine. At the temperature 4 and 9?C duration of ciliary motion of the ciliated epithelium is more, than at 18?C, Presence of toxicants in the solution leads to development patalogical process in molluscs (phase indifference, action of activity, depression, sublethal and lethal phase). The decreasing of duration and the increasing of ciliary beat frequency of the ciliated epithelium in Unionidae from the radionuclide-contaminated territories was revealed.
