Essay

Object: senile cataract pathogenesis and medical treatment. Purpose: the more effective medical treatment of patients with senile cataract on the basis of glutathione status examination in cataractogenesis. Methods: spectrophotometry, colorimetry, clinical and statistical analysis; spectrophotometer, colorimeter, slit lamp. For the first time the fact of lens stability reduction in relation to cataractogene light-intensity action in rabbit's organism has been established in case of abnormal glutathione status. The efficiency of glutathione status correction of the organism in patients with senile cataract was proved by peroral applica- tion of "Phakovit" preparation by scheme. The main results of the work are adopted in the program of lectures and practical work of Donetsk State Medical University. The sphere of use: medicine, ophthalmology.
