The dissertation is dedicated to the research of normative, scientific and methodical basis of records keeping organisation in Ukraine in the second half of the XX - at the beginning of the XXI century. On the basis of comprehensive analysis of normative and methodical base, scientific literature and archival sources there was studied contents, peculiarities, efficiency and problems of records keeping normative, scientific and methodical basis in Ukraine at different stages of records keeping development for the last fifty years. The current state and problems of records keeping organization in Ukraine was characterized on the example of central executive bodies. The main perspective directions of forming of records keeping organisation normative, scientific and methodical basis in Ukraine are defined
