The object of the investigation in the given thesis are works with dreams of European romantic writers (Novalis, E.T.A.Hoffman, H.Heine, H. von Kleist, L.Tieck, A.Mickiewicz, T.Shevchenko, F.Grillparzer). The aim of the dissertation is elucidation of the time-space specifics of dream functions on the various levels of poetics (structural, compositional, conceptual and stylistic) through complex analysis of oneiric things in special works of romanticists. The practical value of the research relies in the possibility to use the obtained results for general courses of theory of literature and history of foreign literature in higher school. Methods that were used are literary and historical, comparative and typological, structural and narratological.
