Tivstopyat L. I.H. Shulga as a historien of Ukraine.

Primarily in the Ukrainian history the study-research regards the scientific and pedagogical work of I. H. Shulga (1921-1993), a notable historian and pedagogue. On the basis of new data found by the author of dissertation in the book-stacks, different kinds of sources published before, all aspects of Shulga's scientific and cultural activity are analyzed. The chronology of his life and activity is proposed. The development of the Shulga scientific interests is characterized in details. They are analyzed in evolution. The study shows the ties of Shulga with native and foreign scholars. Great attention is paid to his pedagogical activity. Many of Shulga's works dealing with the problems of socio-economical history of Ukraine are of great importance now. The place and the role of the scientist in the development of Ukrainian history are determined.
