Essay

The dissertation is focuses on the improvement of the results of surgical treatment of patients of elderly and senile age with fractures of long bones. Object of research - patients of elderly and senile age, adult rabbits of breed "shenshila" and fragments of cadaver femur bones. The purpose of this work - to raise efficiency of metalloosteosynthesis of fractures of long bones at the elderly and senile aged people. Methods of research - clinical, radiographic, biomechanical, histomorphological, statistical. On the basis of biomechanical researches on fragments of cadaver bones, the comparative estimation of the stability characteristics of traditional, advanced and metal-cement implants fixation has been carried out. In experiment on animals the influence of intramedullary introduction of bone cement on reparative osteogenesis has been investigated. Practical results consist in development of technique and indications for advanced and metallo-cemential osteosynthesis, introducing these methods in clinic have allowed reducing percent of unsatisfactory results, to raise efficiency of treatment. The scientific novelty consists that biomechanical the advantages of advanced and metallo-cemential osteosynthesis of fractures of osteoporotic long bones were proved. In experiment on animals the opportunity of metallo-cemential osteosynthesis of fractures of long bones at the patients of elderly and senile age is proved. The expediency of definition the degree of osteoporosis for a better choice of more rational way of osteosynthesis has been shown. The developed methods of surgical treatment of fractures of long bones at the patients of elderly and senile age are introduced in Donetsk scientific-research university of traumatology and orthopedics, orthopedo-traumatological clinics of regional and urban hospitals of Kiev, Odessa, Chernigov, Lutsk. 18 certificates of introduction were received.
