Essay

Firstly after 30-years interval the helminth fauna of fishes of the Gulf of Odessa, lagoons and es-tuaries of the North-Western Black Sea region was studied. Out of 36 helminth species those occurred in fishes, 24 species were noted for gobies. The list of hosts for 23 helminth species was enlarged, but the gobies were noted as new hosts for 14 helminth species out of those. Also the data on helminth fauna of separate fish species was enlarged. The infestation of gobies depending on their zo-ogeographical origin, biology and ecology, diet, and also water salinity was analysed.The gobiids helminth fauna of separate water areas was described.
