Lopatyuk N. Qualitative -ly adverbs in linguo-cognitive aspect (on the material of English fiction).

The thesis highlights structural-syntactic, lexical and functional peculiarities of qualitative -ly adverbs representing the linguistic category of quality in fiction. The cognitive approach to the parts of speech investigation is in the focus. The research is carried out on the material of the British National Corpus fiction texts that comprise 16 377 726 words. The analysis resulted in establishing the basic syntactic models belonging to language system and their speech realisation variants; in finding out the prototypical structure of the linguistic category of quality expressed by the units analysed; in presenting the realisation of lexical frames with qualitative -ly adverbs; in revealing the functional potential of the units under consideration.
