Essay

Object - sires of Ukrainian meet breed, including Pridniprovskiy type (PM-1) and Chernichivskiy (ChM-1) interbreed types. Purpose - assessment of the main selection criteria for beef sires by their own performance. Methods - zootechnical, biochemical and statistical. Novelty - the method of beef sires testing by their own performance has been improved on the basis of such body measurements as height at rump and slanted body length at 12 months age instead of subjective meat forms estimation. The expediency of sires selection by their live weight at 12 months age rather then older period (15 months) has been proved. Results of researches - are used in practice scientific process and research work. Branch - animal industries.
