Bokhonkova Y. Personal determinants of first-year students' socio-psychological adaptation to the conditions of the institutes of higher education.

The dissertation is devoted to the study of peculiarities of socio-psychological adaptation process of the first-year students in the institutes of higher education. It contains theoretical and practical investigation of the influence of personal characteristics on the process of socio-psychological adaptation. There has been developed a socio-psychological model of correctional work for overcoming the phenomena of socio-psychological disadaptation of the first-year students in the institutes of higher education. It has been determined that personal characteristics which belong to the socio-mediate category have the most important effect on the organization of adaptive behaviour. As a result of empiric investigation the personal characteristics have been found, which are important for the adaptation process as well as disadaptive characteristics and practically neutral ones. The intrinsic basic factors of the socio-psychological adaptation process of the first-year students in the institutes of highereducation have been discovered. It's been proved that there exists dependence of behavior strategies of social-psychological adaptation from personal determinants.
