Essay

This dissertation deals with the problem of the definition of neofolklorism in the context of musical mentality (logic). It concerns the questions, which are connected with a specification of the musical “neo-appearances”, the structure, typology and principles of the analysis of musical mentality. It implies the sistemated points of view by the examples of the opuses by B. Bartok, I. Stravinsky, which have folklore genesis and include the principles of the creative method and style features of neofolklorism. The filosofical-esthetical and social-culturologic premises of the origin of this appearance in the musical practice of the first part of the XXth century are disclosed in the thesis. The functional-genetical method of analysis is proposed and illustrated with the examples of the Prokoffievs’ pieces.
