Khlystun A. Mediaethics for Modern Political Processes

Lately, the political situation in the world and, especially in Ukraine has urged the issue of media ethics standards for modern political processes. This dissertation, first of all, deals with issues of moral responsibility of mass media. It is generally known that the principles of printed media's self-regulation were established in Sweden and have been improved throughout centuries in Germany, Great Britain and other Western European countries. Some peculiarities of applying the rules of journalistic ethics are present in the United States. Compared to these countries, Ukraine has rather young standards in this field, for example the Code of Ethics of Ukrainian Journalists as well as activities of the Commission for Ethics Issues in Ukraine. However, there exist many violations in this sphere.
