Turchyn Y. Social and political views and state building ideals of S.Shelukhin.

The thesis investigates Shelukhin's concept of revival and ways of developing Ukrainian statehood based on primary sources. Shelukhin's political views on historic and legal grounds for Ukrainian statehood have been condidered. The thesis concretizes the main aspects of his thory of state building - people, territory, power; the ways of realization and the principal constituents of Ukrainian national idea have been considered. The content of S.Shelukhin's federative concept has also been analyzed. His participation in governmental institutions has been studied and the reasons for the defeat of national liberation efforts of 1917 - 1920 have been distinguished.
