Essay

The dispersion of the refractive indices and the optical damage threshold of BaB2O4, Li2B4O7 and CsLiB6O10 crystals are experimentally determined for estimation of possibility using these crystals for acoustooptical operation of high power laser radiation. All components of the elastic matrix, elastic compliance, and all piezooptical and photoelastic coefficients of the investigation crystals have been determined. The optimum geometries of the acoustooptic interaction of -BaB2O4, -BaB2O4 and Li2B4O7 crystals are obtained. The acoustooptical diffraction in the -BaB2O4 and Li2B4O7 crystals was experimentally investigated.
