The features of parameters optimization of heavy ion beam probe plasma diagnostic in conditions of TJ-II stellarator were reviewed. The factors that influence on the accuracy of potential measurements were studied, the diagnostic device was improved and special experimental technique of HIBP measurements was offered. The behavior of plasma electric potential and electron density in the TJ-II stellarator was studied experimentally. The influence of limiter biasing on the electric field and electron density in the TJ II plasma column as well as TJ-II confinement properties were investigated.
