The dissertation is devoted to the contrastive analysis of syntactic, lexical, stylistic and pragmatic features of incentive constructions in English and Ukrainian. The classification of ways of expressing inducement in the contrasted languages is offered. Monofunctional and multifunctional constructions were selected. Special attention is given to multifunctional ways of expressing inducement (incentive constructions with modal verbs, verbs in the form of the indicative, the subjunctive mood and constructions with non-finite forms of the verb).
