Essay

As a result of theoretical and experimental investigations new regularities of non-equilibrium generation-recombination and photovoltaic processes related to multi-layer silicon photosensitive structures (PS) on the base of system Si-SiO2 with diffusion-field surface barriers are determined. Electrical, generation-recombination, optical, photoelectrical and microstructural characteristics of such PS measured by various experimental methods are obtained, and. physical and technological principles for enhancement photovoltaic conversion efficiency are developed. As a result, highefficiency silicon solar cells and modules are produced and investigated.
