Tarasenko V. Legal provision of social security for handicapped children in Ukraine.

The dissertation provides a complex examination of theoretical and practical problems of handicapped children social protection under existing conditions. The work presents some theoretical and organizational-legal foundations of juridical mechanism for social protection of handicapped children in Ukraine. The thesis elucidates the definitions of "a child with the limited abilities", "social protection of a handicapped child" "material care for handicapped children", "social domestic care for handicapped children", "medical care for handicapped children", "job placement of a handicapped children" and also considers features characteristics for handicapped children. For the first time in the native scientific literature social domestic, material and medical care for handicapped children, their rights and guarantees in the sphere of education and labor are analyzed. In the dissertation an ombudsmen's activity (an activity of the Attorney in child's rights) in foreign states is analyzed and the necessity to introduce such an institution in Ukraine is explained. The main directions of further improvement to the current Ukrainian legislation concerning social security for handicapped children are offered including some practical types
