Essay

The thesis is a complex scientific research including theoretical and practical issues alike. The thesis offers the author's understanding of narcotism and drug criminality, defining their main attributes. It explains the role of international organizations and bodies of counteraction to illegal drug circulation. The thesis studied and examined the reasons and conditions of the proliferation of drug addiction and narcotism in Ukraine, from which there were outlined the main and immediate determinants. On this basis, it suggests the measures of general and special criminological prophylaxis of the mentioned phenomena. There are determined the main spheres which are affected the most because of drug addiction. There are raised the issues of international co-operation, with stating the factors that constrain the cooperation of states in the sphere of counteraction to illegal drug circulation.
