Research object: newly-bred grape varieties. Research objective: study of newly-bred grape varieties, selection of a set of varieties with good yielding capacity and high resistance to frost, mildew and oidium to be introduced into commercial cultivation in the agroclimatic zone of Zaporozh'ie. Methods: field and laboratory methods to study varieties: refractometric method to determine sugar content, method of direct titration to determine acid content, microvinification method to determine technological properties of the fruit, method of mathematical statistics to verify reliability of the data obtained, method to assess economical effectiveness of grape variety cultivation. Theoretical and practical results: potential of active temperatures in the zone of Zaporozh'ie has been determined, and it has been established that this zone can be considered suitable for cultivating grape varieties with a short vegetation period, namely cvs Tsitronnyi Magaracha, Ghechei zamatosh, Vydvizhenets and Bourmounk. Based on the established regularities governing the onset of phonological stages, it has been revealed that varieties of Euro-Amur origin possess a stronger response to climatic changes relative to varieties of complex interspecific origin. Of the study varieties, Tsitronnyi Magaracha has shown the highest flexibility as concerns fruitfulness indices. Economical effectiveness of cultivating variety Tsitronnyi Magaracha in the zone of Zaporozh'ie has been calculated, leading to a conclusion that a per hectare net income of 2232.2 hrn can be achieved relative to the control variety Podarok Magaracha. Novelty: frost-resistant variety Tsitronnyi Magaracha have been evaluated for the first time at conditions of the north zone of commercial viticulture where the zone of Zaporozh'ie belongs in comparison with the control variety Podarok Magaracha also noted for frost resistance. The specificity of the duration of phonological stages of the vegetation period at conditions of the zone of Zaporozh'ie in the study varieties has been established. Variety Tsitronnyi Magaracha has been assessed as promising and outstanding based on the combination of such indices as yielding capacity, quality of the fruit and wine made thereof and profitability of cultivation in the region. Implementation degree: variety Tsitronnyi Magaracha has been introduced into commercial cultivation on an area of 2.5 ha. Effectiveness: the per hectare net income resulting from commercial cultivation of variety Tsitronnyi Magaracha equals a total of 2232.2 hrn. Sphere, branch of use: viticulture of the zone of Zaporozh'ie.
