Essay

The comprehensive studies of the electrophysical and thermophysical properties of the polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) - silver iodide (AgI) - silicon dioxide compositions have been performed in the broad range of temperatures and component concentrations. New distinctive effects and processes due to physical and chemical interactions at the interfaces have been discovered. We have shown that nanodimensional silicon dioxide is an active regulator of the permolecular structure in the PCTFE-AgI composite polymer matrix. We have shown that the modulus of elasticity and microhardness values measured in the surface layer differ from the corresponding values measured in the bulk of the same composite specimen. The electrophysical properties of nanodimensional silica modified by silver iodide have been studied in the microwave band.
