Zadorozhnya E. Efficiency of breeding of rams of meat breed olibs with dams the Dnipropetrovsk type of Askaniya meat-woolen breeds

The aim of selection is to create a new population of sheep with increased meat performance via mating Dniepropetrovsk type dams of Askaniya meat & wool breed with Olibs tupping rams of Canadian selection.The aim of investigation is to determine biological peculiarities of purebred & crossbred young stock & to evaluate their performance rate data received after hybridization. The importance of investigation results consists in the fact that for the first time in Ukraine the complex researches were carried out on the genetical potential improvement & the sheep performance boost rate was proved. The sheep belonged to Dniepropetrovsk type of Askania meat & wool breed & they were mated with siring rams of Olbis race. The cross-breeding was executed on the basis of the developed selection programme. The importance of investigation results also consists in their practical implementation in selection aimed at sheep performance boost rate. The sheep belong to Dniepropetrovsk type of Askania meat & wool stock &they are reared in the sheep-breeding units of Ukraine.
