Essay

Object of research: biology, ecology, distribution, forecast and behavior of mole crickets. Aim: optimizing and rationalization season monitoring methods for the pest. Discovering natural factors in onto-genesis of mole crickets, so as pest's harmfulness at private fields of Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones of Ukraine. On this basis, modern means for plant protection against the pest to develop. Methods: field, laboratory, statistical. Scientific novelty: full phenology of the insect in the conditions of Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones is de-scribed first; the new original and not labour-consuming monitoring method is proposed; the new agent - a fly from the family Pharidae is indicated for Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of the Ukraine; the bio-logical agents, which are capable to control the number of mole crickets, are shown; the appropriate guidelines for the use of modern means for plant protection against the pest are developed. The basic results of researches are introduced into the proactive of crop production. Sector of use: agriculture
