Essay

The dissertation is a system research of theatrical discourse in the French classicism drama of XVIIth century of such prominent authors of that period as P. Corneille, J.-B. Rotrou, J.-B. Moliere, J.Racine. Creation of those dramatists can hardly be reduced to a common denominator of an absolutist state. Their individual style appears to be more complicated and much more contensive than scholastic conception of a court theatre, which, in turn, is characterized in the thesis as "pseudo-classical". Contemporary critic quite often defines the composition characteristics of plays by four above mentioned dramatists as mutual penetration (integration) of baroque and classicism poetic elements within the framework of unified creative system, sometimes called "baroque classicism".
