Essay

The work presents a deep analysis of intraspecific and geographical variability of morphological characteristics of green frogs in Ukraine. There are determined and thoroughly grounded those external morphological characteristics which are of the most taxonomical and diagnostic value for these animals. Karyotypes of Ukrainian green frogs are for the first time studied and described. Main types of meiotic chromosomes of the parental species and hybridogenic taxon are investigated. The detailed summarizing of peculiarities of biology of green frogs in Ukraine was carried out.
