Essay

In this thesis a new sample of 1561 flat spiral galaxies from the RFGC catalogue with known radial velocities and HI linewidths was build. It was used to determine values and errors of the parameters of the generalized Tully-Fisher relation in the "linear diameter - HI linewidth" version and multipole models of collective motions of galaxies. Unified data array was built for spiral galaxies from RGFC and Mark III catalogues. Using the Tully-Fisher "luminosity - HI linewidth" relation we obtained estimations of the distances and the radial peculiar velocities of these galaxies. It was shown that position of nearby overdensities or so called attractors, that lies inside the sample, cannot be determined with the use of multipole model of collective motions of galaxies. The density distribution model on 200 Mpc scale with 4 attractors was considered and it's agreement with observational data of large-scale galaxy motions was analyzed.
