Novikova S. Contribution of the Greeks into economic development of the Northern Pryazov region (the 2 nd half of the XIX - the beginning of XX century).

The dissertation is devoted to the studying of the insufficiently researched issues of economical activity of the Greeks in the Northern Pryazov region in the 2 nd half of the XIX - the beginning of XX century. In the dissertation for the first time have been fully considered such issues as the stages of settlement and region opening up by the Greek colonists, peculiarities of agriculture in Greek rural communities, contribution of the Greek merchants and entrepreneurs into industry and commerce of the region, development of the trade navigation of the Azov sea, place of the Northern Pryazov region in external economic relation with Russian Empire and Greece. Proceeding from the scientific research involved, the author proves, that the Greeks played au important role in the economic development of the Northern Pryazov region in the 2 nd half of the XIX - the beginning of XX century and made a great contribution into the development of the region's industry and commerce, that could be also observed atpresent.
