Essay

The dissertation work is devoted to unsufficient studied questions of the ion transport role in pa-togenesis and therapy of vessel dementia and Alzheimer's disease in aged patients. The properties are sodium ion transport mechanisms through red blood cells membranes in physiological conditions and in the development of pathological states in patients with organic dementias were studied. The purposes of reserd are: (1) the analyzing of conception of the development of ion membranopathies in vessel demen-tia and Alzheimer's disease, (2) improvement of laboratory diagnostics, establishment the possibilities of its, (3) correction by traditional methods and also additional use of stuggeron-forte, donepesil, inste-none. Results: the investigation of erythrocytes in patients with partiel and amnestic forms of vessel dementia (n=30), Alzheimer's disease with early beginning (n=30), Alzheimer's disease with late be-ginning (n=30) prove the sodium transport mechanisms get in these disease different characteristics in comparison with physiological state. This fact oermins to refer these illnesses to the group "іon membranopathies". The comparative study between red bllod cells ion metabolism and dynamics of clinic changes permits to protect plas-matic membranes by mechans of medicines.
