Process of operation of machines and the equipment in livestock breeding which causes to occurrence of defects and failures and defines a problem of forecasting of quantitative and nomenclature structure of spare parts for increase of the opera-tional reliability. Increase of the operational reliability of ma-chines and the equipment of livestock breeding by development of the system approach and practical recommendations on fore-casting the quantitative and nomenclature structure of spare parts. Dependences of need for spare parts for the livestock breeding engineering on the law of distribu-tion of the lifetime of units and details and its parameters (prob-abilities of non-failure operation and time of an operating time) are obtained; the mathematical model, factors of need for spare parts and the gamma percent lifetime are substantiated.
