Essay

This dissertation is devoted to investigation of the participation of different types of plasma membrane calcium channels, mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in the formation of intracellular calcium signals in small and middle rat primary sensory neurons, passing the nociceptive information. It was shown that mitochondria are the most powerful intracellular calcium-regulated structures in the investigated neurons. ER participates in calcium signaling and provides the feedback between intracellular calcium stores and plasma membrane calcium channels activated by the depletion of ER. Sensitivity of vanilloid receptors of plasma membrane and ER was studied. The participation of mitochondria in the formation of capsaicine-induced calcium transients was shown.
