Bermes I. Choral life in Drohobych district of the first half of the 20 th century in the context of the religious development in Halychyna.

The choral activity in Drohobych district of the first half of the 20 th century has been researched in the given dissertation. The historical preconditions of foundation and formation of the choral life in this district have been defined in comparison with the activity of choral circles in Lviv, Peremyshl. The peculiarities of musical and educational process, concert life are dwelt on, the repertoire of singing groups are analysed and the personalities of the musical and public figures of the region are revealed in the article. New archive materials, new scientific facts about singing societies, choral circles, educational establishments and cultural societies give the possibility to recreate the processes of this important part of art and cultural being of Drohobych district, to define their place and role in the development of choral culture in Ukraine.
