Essay

In thesis the research results of biomorphological, anatomical, biochemical features and utilitarian characters of medicinal sage were stated. The features of growth and development of medicinal sage, its seed propagation in conditions of Foothill region of Crimea were studied, the brief botanic characteristic of angustifoliate, broadleaf, albiflorous and pink forms was given, the ecotypes on a complex of biomorphological parameters were appreciated; highly productive genotypes, which are perspective for breeding were singled out. The mass part of essential oil has been determined and component structure of essential oil in the roots, shoots, leaves, inflorescences and in above-ground mass of plant, dynamics of its accumulation in ontogenesis were established, quantitative dependence of the basic components and mass part of essential oil from ecological conditions and age of plants was determined . The features of vegetative and reproductive organs were investigated in connection with localization of essential oil. It was revealed, that the formation and accumulation of essential oil occur in all organs of plant, maximal in leaves - up to 2,5%, minimal accumulate in roots - up to 0,15% on absolutely dry matter. The basic structural elements of essential oil in dependence on conditions of cultivation were revealed and the size of their influence on productivity was determined. The economic efficiency and prospects of more extensive production of medicinal sage were determined.
