Essay

Research of macrokinetics of electrochemical and transport process in porous mangan-dioxide electrode (MD-electrode) in alkaline electrolyte. Determination of kinetic behaviour of the MD-electrode functioning and appreciation of characteristics of alkaline power sources with MD-cathode and different anode materials. Methods of research: galvanostatic, potentiostatic, potentiodynamic, resistometric, chemical analysis, roentgenostructural analysis, spectroscopic analysis. The mechanism of influence of active mass composition on the cell parameters is determined by the analysis of discharge characteristics and the results of mathematical modeling. The optimum electrode mass composition and optimum discharge regime are offered. It is proved experimentally that when lithium ions are added to electrolyte the lithium is intercalated in the crystalline lattice of mangan dioxide and increases its electronic conductivity, and as a result the degree of using active material is increased too. A simple mathematical model of element discharge is proposed and under the results of optimization modeling the estimation of maximum specific energy of elements with MD-cathode and different anodes are given. Spheres of use: production of chemical power sources
