Berdnikova O. Semitic component in the Yiddish language

Post-graduate studies “Semitic component in the Yiddish language” exposes the general principles and laws of appearance and evolution of the Semitic component in Yiddish; on the basis of the Semitic material it finds out the main tendencies of development of the Yiddish lexical system and puts question about revival of this language. An analysis of the Semitic lexical material, its semantics and word-formation structure was also carried out in the dissertation. At the first time in the history of studying Semitic component was used as an autonomous source in the examination process of the development of the Jewish people, and it was firstly taken in its historical dynamics. On the material of the Semitic component it was made a conclusion about connection between Jewish people and other peoples. The dissertation also introduces into science a significant amount of the Semitic lexica, taken out from the different sources.
