Essay

New polyperoxides with primary-tertiary peroxide fragments have been synthesized via acylation of tert-butylperoxymethanol by octen-co-maleic anhydride. Obtained polyperoxides are able to form water-soluble salts with surface-active and solubilizing properties which can be used as an active emulsifiers-initiators for emulsion polymerization of styrene. By grafting polyperoxide on the planar polymer surface we can give it reactional activity and hydrophilic properties.
