Essay

The data about incidence of meningitis and the local burden of t some pathogenes are obtained in the city of Kiev. The age-dependent features of clinical manifestation of meningitis were described. It was concluded that LP is practically the only way to distinguish these states, especially in children under 3 years old. Examination of CSF for concentration of the TNF, its first soluble receptor and IL-6 could be useful in differential diagnostics between bacterial and aseptic meningitis.
