Research object: hens of parent forms of the meat cross Progress - P12, P34, and of the meat cross Konkurent-2 - K6, K7. Research aim: determining the efficiency of using parent forms of different productivity lines for breeding a meat-egg-laying type of hens. Methods: zootechnical, laboratory, biometric, economic. Results for theory and application: Expediency of using in crossing parent forms of the meat cross Konkurent -2 as a paternal forms and parent forms of the egg-laying cross Progress as a maternal forms is established. This results in a higher growth energy and survival rate in young hybrid hens. Meat-egg-laying hens are chararterized by the disired indices of live weight, egg production, reproductive properties, vitality. It is proposed to assess hybrid hens according to a range of characters using selection indices and cluster analysis; parent forms are to be assessed on the basis of main selection signs reflecting their general and specific combinating ability.
