Yalynska T. Magnetic-resonance tomography in early diagnostics of acute brain ischemic infarction

The thesis is devoted to the problem of increasing the efficiency of acute brain ischemic infarct diagnostics in the acute stage using modern MRI method. The problem is urgent for both radiation diagnostics and neurology. The MRI-semiotics of acute brain ischemic infarction has been specified. For the first time in Ukraine diffusion-and perfusion- weighting MR-imaging was used for early diagnostics for acute brain ischemic infarction and predicting clinical outcome. The diagnostic possibilities of CT and MRI methods in diagnostics of acute brain ischemic infarction were compared. The values of apparent diffusion coefficients in different anatomic areas of the normal brain were determined. Functional relationship between the value of apparent diffusion coefficient and the period after the appearance of infarct symptoms has been obtained. It makes it possible to predict the value ADC at different periods after appearance of the first clinical symptoms based on the signal force without making any calculation.
