The object of the investigation in the given thesis is the A. Melnyczuk's works of fiction "Roman Coins, Scythian Potteru", "The Tree of Light", "What Is Told" and "Ambassador of the Dead", the Ukrainian translation of the novel "What Is Told", the literary-critical publications within the Ukrainian and American periodicals. The objective of the dissertation is to investigate the Ukrainian problems fixed in the A.Melnyczuk's works of fic-tion in the context of the Ukrainian-American liter-ary process. The practical value of the research relies in the possibility to use the obtained results for general courses of Ukrainian and American Literature History in the higher educational institu-tions.
