Bibleisms from the Gospel according to Matthew in languahe and speech. The aim is a semantic-functional description of the phraseological system segment of the English language which united phraseological bibleisms from the Gospel according to Matthew. The methods are: quantitative, descreptive, interpretational. The complex analysis of English phraseological bibleisms from the Gospel according to Matthew was carried out for the first time. The common tendency of meaning transformation of different English phraseological bibleisms in a newspaper text was reflected; there was defined the possibility of predicting the transformation processes in the meaning of BPhIU in English newspaper text and wide - in the national usage. The results may be employed compiling thematic dictionaries, in teaching courses in the language phylosophy,lexicology. The sphere of usage - higher school.
