Zherebko I. Combined cryomicrosurgical method in the treatment of secondary neovascular glaucoma in the diabetic patients.

The dissertation is devoted to the investigation of the efficacy of differential treatment secondary neovascular glaucoma in 80 diabetic patients (98 eyes) with developed cryomicrosurgical technique and new modifications of STE according to the degree of iris neovascularisation. It was revealed the necessity to perform the main step of STE in the conditions of deep hypothermia of eye tissues.It was confirmed that cryocicloretinopexy initiated the decreasing of iris neovascularization and IOP. It was revealed the advantages of the tunnel STE comparatively with the stepped STE up to the peculiarities of tunnel approach in the cryomicrosurgical technique that decreased the depressurization of the eye and the drop of IOP. It was proposed an algorithm of the microsurgical treatment of the diabetic patients with secondary neovascular glaucoma preliminary with tunnel STE. In the patients with 3-4 stages of iris neovascularization the cryocicloretinopexy has to be performed 2 weeks before the cryomicrosurgicaltechnique appliances.
