Essay

The presented paper gives dialectical analysis of the causes and conditions for the appearing in the beginning of the 20th century of the original music style that was called neofolklorism. The study is based on the works of the founders of this style I. Stravinsky and B. Bartock and examines the main musical and theoretical principles and stylistic peculiarities of neofolklorism. Then the development of neofolklore tendencies is being tracked in the music by the Ukrainian composers. Finally, the role of the artistic personality of V. Zubitsky is marked especially within the systems ,"composer and folklore" and "tradition and innovation" on the background of the development of the neofolklore style movement in Ukraine. Besides the biographical data of V. Zubitsky's life and his music career review, the presented paper also gives analysis of the original musical and theoretical system of the composer whose works opened new fields in the music aesthetics of the bayan music art adapting it to the ,"new" folkmusic performers.
