Essay

Diagnostic value of combined MRI and MRA in detection of vascular brain diseases, their role and place in the diagnostic algorithm for patients with vascular brain diseases were studied. New postprocessing approaches for MR angiograms with use of MIP and MPR algorithms were developed. The approaches allow considerable improving of diagnostic quality. The role of contrast enhanced MR angiography and its diagnostic value in different brain abnormalities was determined. The use of the approaches developed allows considerable shortening of patient’s examination and early precise diagnose, thus better prognosis. Our results also allow using MRI in combination with MRA as a reliable follow-up method.
