Essay

Envelope function method for Fabry-Perot interferograms was developed in the thesis for parameter determination for one-layer plane-parallel film structures. To solve the key problems of the thesis the approaches of plain electromagnetic waves and spatially one-dimensional model of light reflection and transmission were used. The method of envelope functions as the values of energetic reflectance, transmittance and phase in the extremums of Fabry-Perot interference bands was for the first time grounded and used for description of amplitude-phase spectra of light interference in plane-parallel film structures. It was shown that in transmission band the approach is valid for correct description of relevant spectroscopy at normal beam incidence on interface. The grounds were carried out for the structures divided in groups in dependance of the ratio between reflectance indices for media in contact forming the structure when the condition of normal beam propagation through interface is satisfied.
