Popova H. Romantic Poetics of "Memoires d'Outre-tombe" by F.-R. de Chateaubriand.

The object is "Memoires d'outre-tombe" by F.-R. de Chateaubriand as a phenomenon of the Romantic culture and as the writer's concluding work. The aims are to define the place of "Memoires d'outre-tombe" in the history of memoirs and autobiographical genres; to reveal their genre features in the context of the genre system and artistic language of Romanticism; to study the specific character of the Romantic poetics of the memoirs by F.-R. de Chateaubriand. Methods are comparative historical; comparative typological; poetic analysis. The thesis presents a research of the Romantic poetics peculiarities in "Memoires d'Outre-tombe" by F.-R. de Chateaubriand. The sources of autobiographic principles formation in the French literature have been studied in connection with the problem of memoirs genre identification, the laws of the genre synthesis, realized by Chateaubriand in his work, have been determined.
